Barack Obama's Kenyan grandmother has said she prayed for the US president to convert to Islam, according to reports.

Sarah Omar told the newspaper that she could only discuss hajj matters and would not comment on Barack Obama's politics .

Sarah Omar, 88, who was on hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, told the Al-Qatan Saudi daily: "I prayed for my grandson Barack to convert to Islam". 

The paper said that Ms Omar was in Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage along with her son, Mr Obama's uncle Saeed Hussein Obama, and four of her grandchildren. Ms Omar told the newspaper that she could only discuss hajj matters and would not comment on Mr Obama's politics. 

The family appeared to have been hosted by the Saudi government for hajj. Saeed thanked King Abdullah for his "kind hospitality," the paper said. 

US opinion polls in August found that as many as one in four Americans believe that Mr Obama is a Muslim, a claim categorically denied by the White House which has maintained that he is a "committed Christian

(While being stucked in Xi’an for almost 2 weeks, I spent 2 days in the mountain of Hua Shan, about 130km east of Xi’an. Huashan is a mountain that I always wanted to climb since many years ago, after I saw the pictures of it from a friend who went there almost 10 years ago. Even looking from the picture, I could sense that this place is magical. It’s a special mountain, and its one of my wishlist. After days and days stucked in the busy city of Xi’an, which flooded by millions of people, I guess it’s a good idea to spend a few quiet and calm days in the mountains. After all, I always like to be in a mountain, its my most favourite place. Being in a mountain, I feel peaceful, its so quiet, since not many people want to climb to the top of a mountain, so usually being on top of a mountain, I only hear the sound of wind and birds, nothing more. Being on top of a mountain, I feel like I’m at the roof of the world, able to see far beyond the horizon, from the bird’s eye view, and I can see the blue sky at day and the stars clearly at night, since all the clouds are below me. The feeling when youre standing on top of a mountain, is magical.)

We would like to dedicate this excellenet prayer-doa from the Prophet s.a.w related by Companion Ibn Abbas ( in as-Shifa p.41) to all those who seek knowledge and truth in order to live according to the Divine Command and in the footsteps of Rasul al-Mustafa :

“Oh Allah, I ask You for mercy from You
By which my heart will be guided, 
My scattered affairs joined together,
My affairs put straight,

 my unseen part put right,
And part of me that is visible elevated,
My actions purified, 

by which I will be inspired
To right guidance, 

my intimacy will be returned ,
And by which I will be

 proctected from every evil,

Oh Allah ! I ask You for good outcome

In the Decree (Qadha’), 

(to gain) the food of Martyrs
The life of the blissful and

 victory over my enemies!”
